Heated Mattress Pad

I received a heated mattress pad from my daughter for Christmas a few years ago and I think it is one of the best things ever invented. As far as I am concerned, it compares to the standard electric blanket like a Lexus compares to a Model T. There just is not anything else out there on the market like it.

I leave the pad turned on virtually all winter long and there is absolutely nothing like crawling in to a warm bed after a long day. The heat spreads evenly and completely over the entire bed, leaving no cold spots to avoid and, unlike the electric blanket, the pad does not slide around and need to be rearranged every time that you move or roll over. I personally hate having to pull and tug at the covers all through the night.

Sleeping on the heated mattress cover is like sleeping on a giant heating pad. It is fantastic therapy for the aches and pains of arthritis that I have and, about a year ago, I had to go thru chemotherapy that only intensified the pain from the arthritis. During that time, I could do very little and I spent a lot of time in bed. I had also been taking a considerable amount of medication for the pain but found that if I turned up the heat and got into bed for a while with a good book it was just as effective.

It seems that my bedroom is also a favorite with my grandchildren. They have all discovered what a wonderful experience the bed can be. I now have company in it nearly every night and I have heard every excuse from nightmares to "I just want to..". I suppose that this is just another plus for the heated cover because Grandma has suddenly became much more popular.

The mattress pads can be purchased with duel controls so that you have the benefit of controlling more or less heat on one side. This is great when the bed is shared because it seems that one or the other can never be satisfied with the setting.

These heated mattress pads can be found in Walmart or almost any other place that sells the standard electric blanket. They are reasonably priced and well worth the money spent. I very highly recommend that, if you have never tried one, that you do. You might find that you gain a lot of pleasure as well as complete relaxation from the experience.
